Is this what living is?

I heard a noise
behind the clatter of my boots
and the scraping of my bag against my leg.
I slowed down
and cleared
my head.
I could hear the leaves of the trees
rustling rhythmically
and the wind
singing ominously
Ominous but calming
like nature was casting a curse
you simply had to accept.
And my breath was foggy
and rapid
and my lips like ice after wetting them habitually
I felt like a part of it all
And the spell was broken
with the opening of a door.
